About

Photography for me is not looking, it's feeling. If you can't feel what you're looking at, then you're never going to get others to feel anything when they look at your pictures.

My first childhood camping trip in Northern Ontario was the start of a lifelong love affair with the north country. Photography began merely as a way of recording later camping and canoe trips, but once I encountered Freeman Patterson’s first books, I discovered that photography could be so much more.  I studied the images and writings of photographers from the early years up to more contemporary photographers.

I attended photo workshops and seminars given by many of these generous and talented photographers. Later, I was encouraged when I began to have images accepted for magazine publication.

After a several year hiatus from photography, I returned to discover the new adventures of the digital photography world. Initially hesitant, I soon learned to embrace it. And over the last twenty five years or so I have continued to grow and mature both in my image making and post image processing.

But, most importantly, even when heading to one of my old familiar, often photographed sites, I still never fail to return from a photo outing filled with joy and excitement.
